About the author

Larry Martines was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, educated in the NYC school system including evening studies at Brooklyn College, served two years in the Army Signal Corps during the Korean war, completed undergraduate evening studies at Hofstra College (B.S. Physics) and post graduate studies at Adelphi College (Mathematics).
Except for a two year interruption while serving in the army, Mr. Martines attended evening classes over a fourteen year period while working as a technician in chemical, metallurgical, and heat treating laboratories. He then began a thirty-five year career working as an engineer/physicist wherein he developed radar, sonar, and spy systems, becoming a military equipment procurement expert in the process.
Power boating and sailing became serious avocations as Mr. Martines spent much time cruising the waters around Long Island performing Coast Guard Auxilliary marine patrols and rescue missions. Living aboard a forty-two foot yacht for several years provided access to the world of 'live-aboard life' and part time detective work.
In addition to the above completed WILDCARD BOOKS two more major works are nearing completion. Private Lucky a memoir relating to the author's life in the army during the Korean War, and The Goldfish Bowl, a semi-autobiographical novel based on the author's live-aboard life.
